A rectangular shape is standard for tennis court dimensions. It is seventy-eight feet long and thirty-six feet wide. A crucial part of planning your tennis court is spacing. Make sure that the players are provided with enough space along the sides of the court especially on the baselines.
The net is what divides the tennis court equally on both sides. It is fastened on two net posts with the height of three and a half feet. Make sure it is fully extended and none of the tennis balls can pass through it.

These are the baseline, sideline, service line, and center service line. The service line is drawn twenty-one feet parallel from each side of the net. The space between the service line and the net should be divided into two equal parts. These are called the center service line.
Safeguarding Tennis Courts
Maintaining a tennis court is just as important as planning the tennis court dimensions. There are three main types of tennis courts and these are clay courts, grass courts, and hard courts. Each one requires a different approach but all of them needs a lot of care and effort.
The first thing you should do to sustain a clay tennis court is to rake it. It removes all those loose granules and results to a more level court. The next step is you should do is to get a drag brush, line scrub and a roller. This makes the court much more compact and removes any other debris. The final step is to water the court because it will prevent the clay from cracking and it will help it keep its moisture.
Grass courts are the most difficult to maintain. You have to make sure that it is firm and dense enough for the tennis ball to bounce with a height of about six to eight millimeters. Cultivate it regularly for a smooth and even court. At the same time, make sure that there are no weeds, dents, or slants on the grass. Lastly, remember to repaint the lines every time you mow the court.
The opposite of the grass court, when it comes to cleaning, is the hard court. Make sure that is free from any debris because it can create dents on the surface. Apply acrylic coating over any depressions to avoid any more damage done to the court. Don’t forget to repaint the markings regularly so that the tennis court dimensions can be seen.
Whenever you are planning the tennis court dimensions, remember that precision is vital to the entire project. The slightest mistake could lead to devastating consequences. Even though you built everything perfectly, you should have the same effort in maintaining your tennis court.
