A customer is very important to a company. They should not be taken very lightly, because the old adage “the customer is always right” is definitely true. One lost customer or potential customer could be very bad. They could even spread bad words about your company’s bad service that could lead to more customer losses. Therefore serving the customer properly is a must.
Imagine a situation where your internet connection has crashed and you would need to finish rush work on that day. You immediately call their support service and expect to get help obviously. The last thing you get is a pretty naïve help desk agent who will just say for you to wait. The last thing you know, you’ve been very patient and waited for several hours that you didn’t even notice that you slept. Finally you hear a voice that says I’m sorry sir, our office hours are now lover, please call again tomorrow. Now wouldn’t that piss you off?
Those things may still be done by some big companies but because now they value their customers very well. They now try to avoid situations like that. They are now offering a service where you hear a nice relaxing music to at least entertain you while waiting or have a sound that promotes their company. Companies now entertain you by either providing you either latest music or their company jingles.
More companies now have also subcontracted small call centers to make their customers problems be answered faster. For example you have been having problems with your computer so you call the customer service hotline in the middle of the night and your call is directed to call centers. Your call is directed to another part of the world probably India or the Philippines. The best thing about it is you won’t even know they aren’t Americans.
These recent advances that companies take to ensure that their customers get the best shows us that companies do care. They would just need some feedback from us the customers and they would try to figure out a way to please us. So always remember as a customer, try to tell them your rights in a nice way. After all you don’t want to be stuck in the era where you wait for your problem to be answered until you have white hair already.
